About us

Piotr Alama and Pola Kann-Alama

Husband and wife team Piotr Alama and Pola Kann-Alama have designed and delivered residential and commercial projects in both Poland and Ireland.

Born in the 70 s, they grew up in the same locality and even attended the same preschool in Cracow, Poland.

They both work with AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Sketchup, Revit and Morpholio. They pride themselves on a strong client service and approach every project with dedication and attention to detail. Their work complements each other’s area of expertise and design.

They are life and business partners.

Their studio is situated between South County Dublin, bordering Country Wicklow.

Pola

Interior Architect, she is also the Creative Director and partner in ZOHA Architecture & Design. She loves creating unique interiors. Her favourite influences are from Art Deco and Art Nuovo. Most of her interiors are Eclectic in style. Pola is very passionate about old houses and antique furniture. She has a soft spot about animal patterns, bold, dark colours, gold accents and crystals. Her motto – ‘more is more’. Strong in the areas of functionality and spatial planning, Pola creates spaces full of character and warmth in collaboration with the client.

Pola started off as a voluntary student in 1997 at Academy of Art in Cracow, Poland. After moving to Ireland in 2006 Pola became a member of the Crafts Council of Ireland. Her sculptures were sold at Kilkenny Design and many private shops and studios around in Ireland, UK, Italy, Holland, Germany, Poland and USA. After graduating firstly from Blackrock Further Education Institute in Interior Architecture and Design and then subsequently from Griffith College Dublin, Pola was awarded a BA in Interior Design She is a member of Interior Association, British Institute of Interior Design and Institute Designers Ireland.

Pola hobbies include horse riding, art, hiking and listening to audiobooks.

Piotr

Architect and Member of the RIAI. He is Director and partner at ZOHA Architecture & Design. He is passionate about his work and his strongest Architectural inspirations are Carlo Scarpa and John Pawson. Piotr has a great interest in 1960s modernism, sustainability, vernacular architecture and passive designs. He is a perfectionist who gives attention to detail. He enjoys working collaboratively with clients and together creating the unique product of a meeting of minds. Piotr is also an authority in planning legislation.

Piotr started his Architectural education in 1995 at Cracow University of Technology, Poland.

Other than his family and work Piotr loves football, cooking and his dachshund Frida.
